About

Hi, I’m Jasmine.

I started this blog with my ex when we had one crazy suggestion, one crazy idea, one crazy dream:

How far could we get around the world in 6 months?

That question turned into eight months of travel around the world to six continents, including Antarctica. We started this blog to inform our family of the travel and it quickly morphed into something that became a place for advice on everything from trip planning, locations, travel gear, places to see, stay, and eat, as well as taboo subjects. As my life changed this blog continues to morph.

The ultimate goal, however, is to inspire brown people like myself to travel the world as much as possible, fearlessly, solo, with friends, or your bae.

Join me and tell me what inspires you!

I’ll try to update this blog regularly. Follow along daily on my Instagram.

ABOUT ME

I’m a 30-something Black professional who traded in the West Coast for the East Coast and now am laying roots in the Midwest with my dogs. I’ve been traveling internationally since the age of 16. I’ve lived in Turkey and traveled alone, with friends, and with a bae. I don’t come from a traveling family, my mother took her first trip overseas, at 50, solo, to see a Jamiroquai concert. While most of my family doesn’t understand my love of travel, they are nevertheless fearless in pursuing their lives. I’m a first-generation college student with a Masters’s degree. In my day job, I work in politics, and in my free time, when I am not talking politics, I love cooking, photography, the gym, writing, and of course, travel. I have a dog who’s name is Rascal McPaws and we frequently take road trips. My dream is to inspire more Brown and Black people to travel and live abroad.
